How participation and your data work

Microfixx Research Participation invites volunteers to take part in short, controlled studies. This page explains, in plain language, what participation means and how your information is used. It is provided for transparency and is not a legal contract.

Participation is voluntary

Applying does not create an employment, contractor, contributor, or customer relationship with Microfixx. You may withdraw before submitting a locked study response. Study-specific eligibility, time requirements, data use, and compensation — if any — are disclosed before you participate.

What we collect

When you complete a screener we collect only what is needed to determine eligibility and run the study: your preferred name, email, general location and time zone, your self-described relevant experience, your consent acknowledgements, an eligibility outcome, and — if you participate — an assigned participant code, study assignment, timestamps, your submitted response, and technical integrity metadata.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for your Social Security number, government identification, exact date of birth, financial information, full employment history, or sensitive medical information.

How your information is used

Screening information is used to determine study eligibility. Study submissions are analyzed in de-identified form where practical and retained according to the study’s stated data policy. Research contact permission is separate from marketing consent — completing a screener does not add you to any marketing list.

Your choices

You can decline to answer optional questions, withdraw before submitting a locked response, and request deletion of your screening data where a study has not yet begun. To make a request, use the contact address published on the study or the main Microfixx site.

Security

The screener runs over HTTPS with anti-spam and rate-limiting protections. Identity information is separated from study-response data where practical, and participant codes — not your email — are used in the analysis dataset. Locked study submissions cannot be edited after submission.
